Prom...:)

Everyone is looking forward to Prom 2011.. right? Are you ready? Do you have your dress? Or maybe your tie? How are you going to do your hair? Do you have your tuxedo fitted?  Are your nails going to be done? Do you have a corsage for your date? Everyone has something to do in order to get ready. So much to do...so much to look forward to.

Do you know what the night will hold? Of course you don't. No one knows the future, so this is why you need to plan ahead.

77% of drunk driving accidents occur around midnight... right after prom. Keep a good head on your shoulders, and do not drink. Having a good time isn’t dependent on alcohol—besides underage drinking is illegal and can result in serious trouble, injury, or worse!
Remember that intoxication can lead to poor judgment calls and dangerous situations.
Don't be a statistic: 60% of all teen deaths in car accidents are alcohol-related.

Here are some tips to keep your Prom Night the best night of your Senior Year:

  • Don’t let friends drink and drive, and don’t get in a car with a drunk driver.
  • Schedule ahead—make sure you have a safe plan for prom night.
  • It’s safer to travel in groups—remind each other about responsible decision-making and standing up to peer pressure.
  •  Always keep an eye on your drink and never accept a drink from someone you don’t know.
  • Always wear your seatbelt and make sure everyone in the car does, too.
  • Concentrate and drive defensively. There are likely to be a lot of impaired drivers on the road prom night.
  • Have directions to the dance — even drive by the location during daylight hours — if the prom is not held at your school so you know where you’re going.
  • Understand that the average vehicle weighs 3,000 pounds. It may be easy to drive, but it’s still a heavy hunk of metal.
  • Remember that tired drivers are dangerous, too. If you’re barely awake, you shouldn’t be behind the wheel.
  • Take your cell phone to prom so you have one in case of an emergency.
  • Take a spare pair of comfortable shoes with you for driving so you don’t have to hit the brakes while wearing unfamiliar high heels or bulky dress shoes.

Again, make your Prom Night 2011 the best night ever. Don't fall in the cracks of temptation. Don't give in to peer pressure and ruin your life or someone else's life. Use good judgment and make Prom 2011 memorable! (:

Oh, What I Would Be Without You....

Oh, what I would be without you... Just as I said, life would never be the same without my friends. I have close ones; I have distant ones. Close or not, they all have a part of my life reserved with their name on it. Life is great, but with you it's greater. :) This one is for Rachel. You have been there for me through a lot. Through breaking doors, under computer desks, and even through rough times at home. Friends are forever, but sisters are a lifetime. (Even though you aren't my sister, might as well consider you one.) I thank God for you everyday. We have had our up's and down's, but through it all, we made it. This year is almost over, and Senior year, here we come! :) Let's make the best of the rest of this year, Senior year, and life to come.:) I love you, Rayy!

You and Me

You and me. What words.  Can anyone summarize it all? I can't, but this is how I can describe it :)

You say huh? We say... That's right! :)

And these are my people :) <3 We sort of sing songs. :)

And these are the rest of my peeps.. :) What I would never be able to do without them:)

And the crazy messes that we are...

Yeahh.. that's right. You can't compare yours to ours.

We've held each other together through the good times...

And fell apart together during the sad times...

With them life would never be the same...

And without them... what's the point in life anyway?

These are my people....

And I wouldn't have it any other way. :) <3

Lovely You

Ever had one of those days when you feel like you're more beautiful than before? Do you really know why you think this? Most say it's because of an outfit or maybe your makeup is amazing that day. What about those days when you just want to go home and curl up in bed because you feel that you look like complete and utter crud? What made you feel that way? Bad hair day? What ever your reasoning, even though these may be true, these are not the actual causes.

God made us each the way He wants us to be. He made you beautiful... even when you don't think so. And the days you feel extraordinary... this is just a small portion of what God made you to be. Everyone is beautiful whenever they are themselves. Walk with God. He's the One who made the perfections in you.

So, the next time you feel like you're not beautiful, think again. You're beautiful.  Be yourself, hold to the Hand of God, and stand tall. You're a creation of the Great Almighty... and He doesn't make mistakes. :)

Love,

Kelsi :) <3
